A class of year 7 learners visited Darton Church to learn about the effects of the English Reformation on their local community. This has been part of a larger project where the college is engaging with Heritage England to improve the access that our young people have to learning about their local heritage.
They were given an amazing presentation by a church volunteer who was able to show the young people the physical changes to the church building that the English Reformation brought. They were able to ask questions and had a full tour of the building. The learners returned to the college enthused and produced pieces of work related to what they have learned. This work will be used as part of a 500 year celebration to be held at the church in the near future.
