Hand crafted images of Nepalese women and children Lincs2Nepal

On Friday 30th September we held a whole school drop down day to learn about a voluntary organisation based in Lincoln working to improve the lives of some of the worlds poorest children.
Darton Creative spent the day personally responding to what they had learnt. Learners collected photographs and names of the children we were supporting. The idea was to commit their portraits to canvas to create a wall hanging. We thought it would be really powerful for the Nepalese children to see portraits of themselves created by our Learners at Darton College. The hanging will be sent to their classroom in Nepal to form a wonderful link between our school and theirs.
I am incredibly proud to work alongside Learners who are able to respond to real world situations with sensitivity, passion and be able to articulate their feelings thoughtfully and personally through creativity.
They never fail to inspire me everyday.
