Making a Splash at Darton Skate Park

Darton Voice joined forces with the Eco-Council from Darton Primary school to look at Darton Park and to see what young people can do to improve it.  We decided that the litter and graffiti on Darton Park need tackling.  On Monday 15th May learners met on the skate park and painted the sides of the skate ramps and the shelter to cover the graffiti.  During this time we also completed a litter pick of the park and it now looks much tidier.  We were assisted by the Clean and Green team and members of the Darton West Ward Alliance and we thank them for their support.

The young people did an excellent job and are now set to create a mural to discourage future graffiti.  We are hoping the part of the project will be completed next week by a class of year 9 learners from Darton College.  It has been amazing to be involved in this project and we look forward to updating you when it is completed.
